In-Text Ads Networks - Kontera
In-Text Ads Networks
Kontera ContentLink allows you to make money from advertising without giving up any current advertising spots. Their technology reads your post and turns certain words into an ad. The highlighted words are double underline and an ad pops up when you hover over it. Normally Kontera requires a site have a minimum 500,000 page views per month before being accepted into the program.
However, if you have good design and good quality content, Kontera might accept your application. This is a great way to use a service that is normally only available to high traffic sites.
The largest barrier of entry is obviously, the page impressions prerequisite. Most smaller blogs do not meet that requirement so using Kontera was originally next to impossible. However, recent news from Kontera is that it is currently opening up its doors to publishers with smaller traffic levels.
Some people think Kontera is one of the good alternatives to Google adsense. Kontera does not conflict with Google Adsense, an advertising network that you are probably already running on your website. This means that you can use Kontera alongside Adsense, which gives you another way to monetize your website.
Kontera has a different approach to contextual advertising. Rather than display ads directly on the website, their engine looks at a web page and highlights certain keywords on the page by placing a double blue line underneath the word.
You might even see an example of this on this web page. Simply run your mouse over the link, and voila, advertisement that may provide additional useful information for my readers. Try it!
If you own a website, you may want to take a look at putting Kontera on your pages. You will simply need to install a script on every page of your website and several words per page will be transformed into links with bubble box advertisements. Like Adsense, you will earn money according to both Cost-Per-Impression and Cost-per-Click.
Kontera ContentLink service dynamically finds contextually relevant keywords on publishers web pages, which are then automatically turned into links. When a user mouses-over a link, an ad displays on the page. There are five different ContentLink ad formats - text only, text with an image, banner, video, and flash.
Many of Kontera publishers use the service as a compliment to AdSense. Checks are sent to publishers once a month, as long as they have earned $100 or more. Publishers can also edit the ContentLink tag to make sure ads match the layout of their site. In addition, Kontera offers a WordPress plugin to easily add ads to your blog.
